Plant Room Walls



Insulated metal composite panels are increasingly used in modern buildings to provide fast and economical closure of the building envelope around roof plant areas.

Emtec have worked over many years to develop and refine ways to build these walls that suit the needs of fast track construction.

Often on the critical path, external plantroom walls can be constructed with minimal secondary support steelwork and using various installation methods. This flexible solution is particularly suited to high rise construction, where we have earned a strong track record of completing plantroom walls on many prestigious landmark buildings.

The high rigidity of the composite panel system often allows us to span floor to floor with minimal secondary steelwork. This provides complete flexibility for positioning of ductwork and other services openings, plus doors and louvres. We have developed proven details for integrating our own louvres and doors, and can offer a complete turnkey plantroom wall package to the contractor, including the integration of screening louvres and aerofoil fins over the top of roof plant.

We have developed robust interface details at the junctions of our walls with adjoining building elements. These include fully supported and protected EPDM membrane air and vapour seals, which are compatible with all modern roofing materials and curtain wall systems.

Parapet Copings

Our parapet copings can feature integrated handrails for edge protection, and all flashings to cover the roof insulation at the head and base upstands are provided.



The composite panels can be used to provide insulated metal soffits for air plenum areas, or basement vehicle access ramps, etc where there is a need to maintain insulation and air seals to an occupied space above.

The panels are installed onto a suspended grid of top-hat beams and the soffits can be designed and rated for walk-on access to maintain services in the void above.
