Ontario Tower forms part of the New Providence Wharf mixed-use development. On a bank of the river Thames, opposite the Millennium Dome, its distinctive roofline is a London landmark.
How then to locate machinery on the roof, maintain a striking appearance to the building and ensure residents below enjoy peace and quite?
The architect Skidmore, Owings and Merrill consulted Emtec early on to help with a feasibility study. The resulting elliptical shaped roof plant screen would eventually become a major feature at the top of the tower.
At the same time, collaborative work with the Acoustic Consultant developed practical measures to control plant noise.
Emtec successfully designed and manufactured the architectural and noise control elements of the project. And installed, meeting all programme deadlines. Above all, a positive relationship with customers and other contractors led to several repeat contracts with both Scheldebouw and Briggs and Forrester.
